~Well, so much for skating “whenever we want”…the ice is now garbage. Too much rain, freezing, snow, melting, freezing, rain, etc. Welcome to the east coast! I won’t complain though. I love it that it will be spring by Easter!
~We were privileged to hear a speaker at church yesterday who works with Compassion. He landed in Port Au Prince about 2 hours before the earthquake struck. For “some reason” they got held up at the airport and were late getting to their hotel. As he and the group he was with were nearing the hotel, it collapsed, burying 2 of his colleagues who were inside already. (One lived and one did not.) It was a very moving story and it was refreshing to hear how God is working in Haiti. It is hard to know how to help, or where to start when your heart is touched by stories like this.
~The girls don’t have school today, so we are thinking about our options of what to do…
~We had a party for Adrienne yesterday. She picked 5 friends to invite and their families came as well. So we had a fun, full house. I made way too much food but it’s always better that way.
Pictures coming later.
~We finally purchased a small guitar for the kids to learn on. They are having fun playing with it even though they only know one chord. Yesterday the song they were singing was something like “My hot dog was smoking so I threw it in the river…”. It was hilarious.
~I just want to say, once again, that I thank God for blessing us with such an awesome “family” here. It is truly His provision for us, and we don’t take it for granted.
